- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and minced garlic. Use your hands or a spoon to gently mix everything until just combined and the spices are evenly distributed.
- Shape the seasoned beef mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs, pressing lightly to ensure they hold together. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until they are browned and cooked through. You’ll see a nice crust forming on the outside, and the meat inside will be juicy.
- While the meatballs are baking, prepare the crescent roll strips by separating the dough into individual triangles and then cutting or tearing them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide. These will be used to mimic bandages.
- Once the meatballs are done baking, let them cool for a few minutes so the cheese strips don't melt too quickly. Then, carefully wrap each meatball with several strips of mozzarella, leaving some edges loose to resemble bandages.
- Wrap each cheese-covered meatball with strips of crescent dough, crisscrossing over the cheese to create a mummy-like appearance. Place them back on the baking sheet, seam-side down if necessary.
- Bake the wrapped meatballs for an additional 10 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and crispy. The aroma of baked dough and seasoned beef will fill your kitchen.
- Remove the mummy meatballs from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm on a platter, with a fun Halloween theme if desired. Enjoy the crispy exterior with a juicy, flavorful interior in every bite.
