Ingredients

  • 6 pieces hot dogs
  • 1 package crescent dough sheet pre-separated in triangles
  • 1 beaten egg for egg wash, optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Kitchen scissors
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles, then gently flatten each with your hands to ensure even wrapping.
  3. Wrap each hot dog completely in a crescent triangle, starting from one end and overlapping slightly to cover the whole sausage. Ensure the dough is snug but not tight.
  4. Place the wrapped hot dogs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  5. If desired, brush the dough lightly with beaten egg to give a shiny, golden finish after baking.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crescents are puffed, golden, and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly; then serve warm, with playful ‘bandage’ strips of dough resembling mummies.

Notes

Feel free to add small dollops of mustard or ketchup as ‘face’ decorations once served.
