Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen cherries pitted and frozen
  • 1 cup fresh citrus juice lemon or lime juice for brightness
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup as a sweetener

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cup
  • Citrus juicer (optional)

Method

  1. Measure out two cups of frozen cherries and add them to your blender.
  2. Squeeze fresh citrus juice into the blender, about one cup, to add a bright, tangy flavor that complements the sweetness of the cherries.
  3. Drizzle in two tablespoons of honey or your preferred sweetener to enhance the flavor and help balance the tartness.
  4. Secure the lid on the blender and pulse several times to break up the cherries, then blend on high until the mixture is smooth, thick, and slushy, about 30-45 seconds.
  5. Check the consistency; if it's too thick, add a splash more citrus juice and blend briefly to loosen it. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen cherries and blend again.
  6. Pour the cherry slushie into glasses, and if desired, garnish with a fresh cherry or a citrus slice for visual appeal.

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, add fresh mint or a splash of sparkling water before serving.
